Honey and Tar bring Americana blues to The Varsity Center
CARBONDALE – Honey and Tar, a Southern Illinois band, will present a unique mix of folk and blues in the Americana style during their first show at The Varsity Center on Saturday, July 15.
The band is comprised of Katie Foley on vocals and ukulele; Tanner Troutman on guitar, bass and vocals; and Nathan Wolfe on percussion. Established in 2015, the trio records and performs a varied and unique style of Americana music with a heavy blues influence. Their single, “Walk Away,” is available now on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.
In addition to original music, they also perform a variety of covers ranging from classic country and rock to new age pop and folk, presented in their unique style.
Catch Honey and Tar at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 7, in the newly renovated performance space at The Varsity. Tickets are $7 at facebook.com/varsitycenter/events and at the door. Doors and the bar open at 6:45. The bar features classic and craft beers, wine and select cocktails.
