Carbondale’s main form of transportation into and out of the area is via the Amtrak train. The SIU Airport is also about 15 minutes from downtown, and the St. Louis Airport is about 2 hours from Carbondale. Greyhound busses are also commonly taken. To get around town once you are here, you can use the Saluki Express or Jackson County Mass Transit busses, which have several routes that take you all throughout the area.,Uber and Lyft are also available.
