For Kids’ Sake Art Auction
Opening Reception March 30, 5pm-8pm
Carbondale – The Opening Reception for the 18th Annual For Kids’ Sake Art Auction will launch the event at Longbranch Café & Bakery, 100 E. Jackson Street in Carbondale, IL on Friday, March 30, 5-8pm.
The Opening Reception is the perfect chance to view this year’s show, start bidding on art, and enjoy live music and delicious hors d’oeuvres. The Art Auction, open from March 27 through April 27, highlights student and professional artwork from Southern Illinois, Bangladesh, Germany, and Switzerland. All proceeds benefit orphans and students in Bangladesh.
Individuals and businesses are invited to choose and sponsor a wall of the Auction. A Sponsor commits to match the final bid total from art hanging on the wall of their choice. Families can also sponsor a wall, in honor of someone or something special. Sponsorship opportunities are available now through April 27.
In addition, five incredible raffles are available. $5 for 1 ticket or $20 for 5 can buy you chances to win huge prizes: “Eat Out for a Year” includes gift certificates to over 25 local eateries; “Car Care” includes washes and oil changes; “Fun for a Year” includes a cabin retreat and baseball tickets; “Treat Yourself for a Year” includes massages and spa visits; and “Beautify” includes various makeover gifts for yourself and your home. Approximately 50 local businesses have donated goods and services. Tickets will be available at Longbranch Café & Bakery and Town Square Market in Carbondale, IL and on the For Kids’ Sake website:www.forkidssake.net. Winners will be announced at the Closing Celebration on April 27, 5-8pm at the Longbranch.
