Driving Directions

If you are coming from St. Louis, you might come south on Route 3 (the Great River Road!) and you’ll intersect with Route 149 to travel east to Murphysboro and Carbondale. Or you might want to travel east on Interstate 64, get off at exit #50 for Nashville (Illinois) and head south on Route 127 to Murphysboro and Carbondale.

Coming from the north or south? You’re probably planning to arrive via interstate 57, so just jump off at Exit #54 for Carbondale!

For those traveling to Carbondale on U.S Highway 51, this highway runs straight through the middle of town. Once you reach city limits you have the opportunity to turn Illinois Route 13, for best lodging facilities.

Transportation

Many people arrive in Carbondale via Amtrak aboard our very own Saluki Express! There are also daily shuttle flights to and from St. Louis via the Williamson County Airport, 15 minutes east of Carbondale. We have Uber and taxi service and if you need a rental car, you can arrange to have one waiting for you when you arrive.
